Promethean ActivCare Plus Warranty

Promethean has introduced a new ActivCare Plus warranty option that applies to products purchased on or after March 1, 2011. Promethean ActivCare Plus offers an upgraded 5 year onsite support assist warranty as well as an advance replacement on selected products.  ActivCare Plus is available for registered Promethean products that are installed by an accredited Promethean installer. Promethean products supplied by Empowered Learning have the full ActivCare Plus warranty provisions, providing your organisation piece of mind that your investment will be productive well into the future.

Promethean Customer Support (1800 403 441) is the point of contact for ActivCare Plus onsite support or advance replacement warranty. As Empowered Learning and Promethean are committed to providing a high quality level of diagnostics as part of our service and support. Prior to contacting Promethean Customer Support, there are a number of items that can be checked that may assist in the diagnosis of the problem, or may even rectify the issues that are being experienced and save you a call.

Promethean provide a toll free priority phone number 1800403441 and an on site warranty structure to schools in Australia, in addition there is an online facility called Promethean Knowledge Base to assist in trouble shooting and for the purposes of logging a warranty call on line if you don’t have access to a telephone.  The warranty period will be dependent on the product you have and the time you purchased it.
To access the Telephone Support Desk you require your Activcare account number which should have been provided to you by Promethean when your reseller registered your installation and a copy of the document is on the next page.  Should you not have received this document please contact your reseller for your account number.  Alternatively please log your warranty call via Promethean Knowledge Base.
 
Prior to logging a call and to save time whilst on the call we have included some instructions for you follow prior to making the call.  You may even find that by following these instructions that you find that the call is not required.

Warranty Periods

  • Older Style AC2 ActivBoard – 3 Years
  • Newer Style AC300 ActivBoard – 5 Years
  • Older Style PRM-10, PRM 20, PRM-30 LCD Projectors – 3 Years
  • Newer Style PRM-35 DLP Projectors – 5 Year

Before You Call Promethean Customer Support

Promethean we are committed to providing a high quality level of diagnostics as part of our service delivery. Prior to contacting Promethean Customer Support, there are a number of items that can be checked that may assist in the diagnosis of the problem, or may even rectify the issues that are being experienced and save you a call.
If you do not feel confident enough to try the following without guidance, then please call Promethean Support or Empowered Learning at a time that would be convenient to allow sufficient time for guidance through the diagnostic processes detailed within this document. If applicable, please have your serial number when you call.

Basic Steps to Carry Out

There are also some simple diagnostics that can easily be carried out to help diagnose the problem prior to calling Promethean Customer support.  This will ensure your system fault is logged and the appropriate action taken to dispatch a technician or replacement part ASAP.  These steps include:

  • Try to power everything off and then on again
  • Try using another ActivPen to see if this rectifies the issue
  • Try using another known working computer
  • Ensure you have the latest versions of software installed?
